Hi I just got this prescribed today and i am very nervous to take it as I have had many symptoms like you have said above with other pills. How is she going with weight gain or pimples?

Hi! Finally I've been able to find someone else's personal feedback on this pill. If her period was normal before this pill, I assume it would go back to normal.

I myself ave been on it do almost 3 weeks - already finding weight gain :'( I feel as if I am depressed again and on my anti depressants and completely un emotionally have no connection with anyone. Hoping these symptoms die down very soon! I feel like a. Implement different person!

I'm so glad I found your post! I feel like a wreck after 1 week on this pill. So crazy depressed and crying- snapping at people and just weird!!! I don't know whether to keep taking it or to give up! A pill has never made me feel this way! In 15 years of taking it. Let me know how your symptoms go ...

Thank you so very much for your posts. After a week on Zoely, I was desperate. Screaming at anyone and everyone, very depressed and frightened. I started having sucidal thoughts. I considered going to a mental hospital. Getting on this forum, saved me. I immediately stopped taking Zoely and immediately improved. Within two days, my poor children had their Mum back. I have never posted anything before, but just have to warn people how bad this was for me

I have read the clinical paper named Mansour study which is 100 per cent fact that the pill Zoely does not cause weight gain. It also should not cause the depression you are having as it is not introducing any new hormones into your body like other pills do, and the levels are so low it would not impact on your mood anyway. Maybe try diet and excercise and you will feel better ! I have been on Zoely now since Jan 2012 and I have lost weight and my skin is better than it as ever been and my mind is in the best place ever ! I have 5 friends who all have the same experience on it. Give it time !

do you have a source as a reference that says its 100 per cent fact that the pill does not cause the weight gain? I would like it read it.

AHHH weight gain...thats something I am dreading with being on this pill, as I have been on 3 others before and experienced weight gain also.. How much weight gain are you finding? And any changes to your skin? And how long did it take for these symptoms to kick in?

I'm on my third month at the moment. No noticeable weight gain (my GP said this is really a myth, women are overly conscious of it when starting on the pill because of this). I am on the pill because of my acne, and so far Zoely hasn't made it worse, fingers crossed it stays that way. (I should note that my acne has been under control because of the previous pill I was on, so I was worried the change would make it worse again).

I have found that my body tolerates this pill much better then the previous one I was on (Brenda 35ED). I'm not as bloated and my breasts haven't got too much bigger. When I was on Brenda my breasts were huge and sore too
When I first started on it I think I was a bit more emotional/moody but that's probably due to the change in hormone, rather than the pill itself. I now don't feel particularly moody or anything, only a bit of PMS around my period which is normal.

You're always supposed to give a pill 3 months, but my experience so far has been good so good luck to anyone out there on it!

Weight gain about 1-2 kg in about 3 weeks. I noticed a change in my appetite which is probably why I gained a bit. But I can see it in my stomach - whether it's just my stomach be bloated I don't think it's just that. And I haven't noticed anything bad with my face , possibly a little more oily if anything! A few more pimples but I'd just say its hormonal and my aide effects started pretty much about 2 days after I started taking the pill. I feel very depressed! Disliking this mood a lot! Have you had any side effects?

I think she might have a heavy period once she gets off of it for the first week, but she should be fine. You should try a different birth control pill if that one isn't right for her.

In the first three months of use some women experience side effects similar to pregnancy, with breast tenderness, nausea and some bloating. Others get mood changes, headaches, a drop in sexual desire, a raise in blood pressure, spotting and /or increased vaginal secretions.If she find side effects from taking the birth control pill the stop taking this pill and take another pill.

I have been on zoely for a week and I have gone completely wacky! I cry at the drop of a hat and feel terrible. So depressed and sobbing tears over nothing. I think I'm going to stop altogether! I've been on the pill for 15 years and never ever has one made me this strange?????

Well I've been it on it for just a week now today exactly, and the side effects I have is definitely my moods, I can also cry at the drop of a hat and I am getting pimples. But no change in my appetite. I started it just before my period was about to start and it hasn't even came at all..anyone know the reasons for this? I'm just really nervous about weight gain, pimples and I really don't want to be feeling like this and wanting to cry all the time I keep bringing out everything on my boyfriend and I feel horrible but angry at the same time cos he has no idea!

Glad I found this forum. I switched to Zoely after taking a different birth control pill for 10 years. I have now been taking it for exactly a week and have also pretty much turned into an emotional wreck, depressed and very moody. Definitely don't feel normal and am getting off of this pill now.

I am 10 days into my pack of Zoely. Yes I am a bit emotional, but overall this pill is working well. Very few side effects. Light period.
Prior to this I tried Yasmin (which was awful - chest pain, nausea, numbness in legs, anxiety, racing heart, constant urination and thirst, depression, acne and random body pain).
I like that Zoely is based on bioidentical estrogen and a better Progestin. it is also safer than any of those ethinyl estrogen pills (Yas, Yasmin, norimin, Diane, etc).
So far, boobs feel fine and no weight gain with Zoely. Skin is great too.
Compared to my experience with Yasmin, this pill is a dream! Very happy.
I must note that i took Diane 35 Ed for 10 years before having 7 years off the pill. I tried going back on Diane before trying Yasmin, but it made me throw up and i was depressed.
Therefore, Zoely has been the only pill to agree with me this time around!

Glad to hear someone else is having good results. I've been on it for almost 4 weeks, and no big side effects. Face has even cleared up a little, hooray! Definitely better then Yasmin which equaled nothing but nausea and depression!

Oh wow, i am so relieved to hear that response! I have been on Yasmin for about 4 years now, and i experiences every single one of those side effects! The worst being constant urination and thirst! Have those side effects gone away yet?
I started Zoely this week and have been stressing after reading these posts, but this has helped alot. Thank you! Please report back if anything changes again.
Also, did you have itchy/dry eyes and allergies, potentially from Yasmin?

my dr gave me 2 months of samples and after the first week i was ready to quit but my dr told me to continue for at least 6 weeks and now i love it - no acne, weigh issues etc. this pill is working for me

I hadn't been on a pill for nearly 12 yrs, and decided to go back on one, dr gave me zoley to try. Was meant to have less side affects, in past i found i was moody and depressed on them thats why i went off all those years ago.
I do bodybuilding so lose my period up to 6mths at a time while dieting but it always comes back regular as. Since been on zoley i have been getting a period a week and half before sugar pills, plus they last for a week and heavy and then random heavy blood flows anytime of month . Another concern was weight gain being back on the pill, i have gained weight since being on it. Bloated tummy all the time, with my training i'm pretty in-sink with my body so any slight change i notice.
Dr has now switched me onto Estelle 35 Ed hopefully this one will work better for me.

Hi there - good to see reviews about this one. I was prescribed it today and started in literally two minutes ago. I tend to suffer from hormonal mood swings and hormonal skin breakouts when I'm not on the pill, so I'm hoping that this one may regulate that?

I'm interested to know - those of you above who said that you are now having mood swings did not before, and those of you who are loving the pill, did have mood swings/emotional problems etc? Thinking, like all pills, it reacts differently depending on the person, so keen to know (moreso from the people who are loving it) what you are like without the pill and what it has changed..

So hard to get this right.. I'm basically on it to clear up my skin, as I'm mid-twenties and still get hormonal serious breakouts. My doctor has said try this pill as a last resort..

Hi there, I was on Levlen previously for 8 years, and the moodswings nearly ruined my relationships both personal and at woek. Finally was offered a new pill Zoely, and my life has improved 80%, its amazing - I feel like a new person! Seriously, my head aches, moodswings, bad skin, has all gone.
Zoely has been wonderful - totally level headed and rational, very minimal periods, and my skin is clearing up. My partner and I are pretty happy with the whole situation!! The fact it is not subsidised in Australia seems to put doctors off subscribing it, however it is a very small price to pay. Everyone has different experiences, but I'd recommend giving it a go.

PS The first week was horrid, but it settled after that!

Thanks for the reply! Yeah it has been a week now and it seems to be going well. I feel a bit hungrier than usual, but my mood is.. very level.. I'm usually pretty up and down without being on anything, so perhaps this one is good for people who suffer from hormonal issues, but doesn't react so well with people who are 'level headed' naturally

So happy to hear some positive responses after a lot of negative at the beginning of this post. I was on Trifeme and suffered mood swings, weight gain, depression, sore breasts. Switched to Zoely and been on it for only four days but so far so good. Fingers crossed! Oh what us women have to do...

Well it has been one month now and it is great! I have actually lost weight (I usually gym a lot and run, so it's not unusual, but people had mentioned weight gain, none here!)I have noticed a slight appetite increase, but nothing that some self control can't battle with
Mood is great. Skin has not gotten any better though.. but my doctor said it can take up to 3 months. Will wait and see. Overall, I highly recommend.

I am on Zoely for three weeks now and the side-effects are terrible! In the first week I didn't have any problems but through the days I got more emotionnaly instable (forgive my english I am dutch)

Last week I cried over nothing and my personality got depressed and was feeling overall like a wreck. Yesterday I stopped taking this pill and I already feel a little less unsatbel (I even was paranoide towards my boyfriend!)

Birth control may work for some people, but my body cannot handle the hormones. I was a different person on it, and once I finally quit it was horrible. I had panic attacks, anxiety, random crying for no reason... It took about 3-4 months for my body to get back to normal. I will never touch another pill again!
