Q: Side effect of Lamcil / Paxil

I'm new to this forum and is this the wrong section to be looking for help if you are a bi-polar, I'm confused? Every topic I see is people looking for help dealing with a bi-polar significate other, where is the section for people dealing with being bi-polar. I'm looking for specific help with a side-effect of my Lamcil/Paxil combo. If any of the mods or other forum users could help me find the area I'm supposed to be posting issues with my drugs it would be it would be much appreciated, thanks.

Paxil

My doctor prescribed Paxil to treat depression caused by my Bipolar Disorder. This sent me into severe manic mode. After a consult between my Family Physician and my Counselor, I was put on 5mg of Zyprexa instead. Now after 6 years of Zyprexa, I am trying to wean off of Generic Zyprea due to weight gain and high sugar counts.

Fair enough that you want to come off Zyprexa. It is a drug where most of those on it eat just about everything in the house! Yipees.

I surgest(damend spelling more off then usual ie Lamictal - I think) very strongly that you inform your pdoc of what you are doing.

He may like to prescribe other medication to keep your Bipolar at bay.
