Q: Sick mental hallucinations

My best friend is 16, and just recently he told me that he had some really sick problems which I wasn't sure I could deal with on my own. He told me that recently he had been frequently hallucinating. Because of the content of these hallucinations I will not explain fully, however they did include; blood fetishism, rape, torture, mutilation and killing someone. He says that he has a very strong desire to taste human flesh and blood, despite what people are to think of him. I never thought of him to be like that, because he just seemed so normal to everyone else. He says blood has become a huge arrousal for him, and that lately all he can think about is hurting people and the ways he can make them bleed. I think he needs help before he does something that could either hurt himself or someone else. Am I just being over protected or is there something really wrong with him? If someone fantasises about killing others, will they eventually turn this into reality?

Go with your gut on this one and tell someone. If you get nowhere with that person go to someone else. Try his parents first. This young man needs some help. I hope you will act on this. Help is out there for him but he may not seek the help on his own.

oh my goodness don't tell his parents first! tell an adult that is neither of your parents.like a teacher you both really like and trust, a youth leader something like that.
