please help with my diagnosis
I hurt myself lifting something too heavy with under hand grip arms dangling by side. I took it easy for a couple of months to let heal but it seems to plateau at a certain point and won't get any better no matter how much time I leave it be.
The area that feels pain is in upper right shoulder area towards the back of neck. I sometimes feel pain shoot up behind my right ear and gives me head ache. Looking anatomy diagram I think its area with Trapezius, posterior neck muscles, and the Sternocleidomastoid.
When I walk, jump, or run, I hear quiet clicking noise that feels like it builds up pressure then it makes loud POP/snap relieving the pressure but causes pain afterwards via inflammation. Doing anything with my right arm irritates it. When I yawn it causes it to make popping noise followed by pain.
I was referred to specialist who did x-ray which found nothing wrong said I had shoulder tendinitis and referred me to physio.
Physio gave me stretches and exercises targeting shoulder which only seem to cause me more pain, then I have to stop because it hurts too much. I tell them the stretches/exercises hurt me and they don't understand why. The stretch that causes me the most pain after(the next day) is shoulder capsule stretch where i lie down on back and have right arm bent, up at 90 degree angle to my body, and use left hand to push down on my elbow.
My posture is poor. When I try to sit/stand up straight it causes pressure to build up and popping/cracking noise in the area. So I am forced to sit / stand with a slightly bent forward posture to not irritate it.
When I first wake up in the day it feels ok(no pain), but as the day goes on and I get more tired it starts popping/cracking followed by pain. It feels like in my upper right shoulder/neck there is a weight pulling down at the area which hurts. The more layers of clothes I wear the faster I get this feeling.
I'm wondering what is the problem and can it be treated conservatively or do I need surgery, Thanks. I'm going to get MRI soon.
