Has anyone had radiotherapy to the left axilla following lymph node clearance (with extracapsular extension) for malignant melanoma? I have Stage 3 SSMM, Breslow 5mm, ulcerated: mole bled Sept 2010, removed Nov 2010, Wide Local Excision Jan 2011, Lymph Node Clearance surgery April 2011... not the greatest scenario! I'd like to hear about anyone's experience of RT or melanoma please.

I had melanoma two times on the top of my head. .75mm with the bigest. Lymph nodes check out okay. I never needed radiotherapy so far. I wish you all the luck etc. Best wishes. Jack

Thanks for your message, Jack. My RT's postponed because of an infection (cellulitis). Good news about my ct scan last week... it's clear - no more lumps. That's great news that you got yours caught early - it sounds like a sure thing that you're cured. Keep up with the Factor50 suncream though - don't burn anywhere on your body this summer or in the future. Best wishes. GWW
