Should I be concerned? Joking or verbal abuse?

My husband was very irritable and anxious today. We were having a great day then he began saying to me, "Well if you had half a brain in your head......", "Are you sure you are sheltered or sheltered and stupid?", "If you ever do that again I will call the cops on you!" He said he would call the cops on me because I punched him in the arm twice while our kids were out of town. I have been telling him for almost a year and a half that I don't find making fun of someones intelligence funny and it is hurtful to my kids (his step-children) and I. (even if you view them as smart/intelligent) He continues to say these things. He won't stop, I have no one to turn to/ no way out, I didn't know what to do. He will not stop to listen and think over what I've said and ask himself if I might be right. He goes on and on in a way that he thinks is humorous. It makes him seem to me so simalar to a hyper child with Attention Deficit Hyper-active Disorder. I see it as a CONTROLLING, HYPER, BI-POLAR, MEAN HEARTED, I'M SUPERIOR COWARDLY RANT! Do you believe from the information provided that I was in the wrong?

hi, it sounds like your patner is truing to be controling and is exteramly imature. you have a right ti be protected from such insults wich are both verbal and emotional abuse. also under uk law at least some of what has been said could be cosnstued as dissability disscriminatuon under the equality act as these could or would be offencive to a person with relivent learning dissabilitys.

what i meen is you are not in the wrong your patner is and if he will not lissen he is not realy worth your time. if he is saying such things to your childern or to you in their pressence it can be classed as child abuse and a crimmanal offence.
