I am a 38 year old male, who is in otherwise excellent condition. I am a long distance runner, usually run 40 - 60 miles a week. In late may, I started having a shortness of breath, at one point I could not even run 2 miles.

I have been to my family physician, allergy specailist, and a pulmanry specialist, and an ENT. All of my lung function tests, came back normal but the days I had those tests I felt better than others. I am very alegeric to hay fever and some molds.

I did notice when I am not running the a/c in the house I feel much better but not 100%. Also, the ENT mentioned I may need sinus surgery because some of my nasal passage ways are blocked.

Can all of these different issues becausing this problem? If I get the sinus surgery would I see a significant increase in my breathing?

I am not sure what is causing this, but it is getting very frustrating.

Thanks!

Where does the shortness of breath originate? Is it coming from the diaphram or the lungs or the head? And have you ever learned deep, full breathing?
