shortened placebo period

Soo Lots of people go through many months without having their period by just taking packs back to back (ie if they have a vacation or wedding or something).
This is what I have read, but I am also wondering myself..

I just got my period after 2 days after my 21 pack finished and wanted to start the new pack right away because I have a vacation next month that I'd be getting my period on.
Is it ok to wait a few days and then start my 21 cycle again? So instead of 7 days of no pills, it'd be ~2-3?

No, it is not OK to start a new pack after only 2-3 days. If you do that you may disturb your cycle and that can cause unexpected withdrawal bleeding.
If you like to skip your period for the next month you don't need to skip the period for the present month. You can continue to take the pills as schedule. When you take the last active pill from the new pack you should throw away the inactive pills and start a new pack right after it. In that case you should not get the expected period but there is no guarantee that there won't be any spotting or any other irregular bleeding.
It is not recommended to skip the regular periods very often.

In my experience, it will work better if you try to skip your period this week. So I would start the new pack asap, and then skip next month too.

Of course, yes, you might have some withdrawal bleeding, but if you wait until next month, you'll just have the withdrawal bleeding next month. Skipping your period works better if you've done it before the time you actually need to. (So, plan ahead and start skipping your period a month or two before your vacation if you want to lessen the breakthrough bleeding.)
