The past week or so, I've had pain in my lower back. It's now gotten to the point when I get up from a sitting position that pain will shoot through my lower back, completely immobilizing me, and knocking the air out of me. When I lower my head, sharp pain. Lower back, spinal area, right above the tail bone. It's never been this bad before, My spine is also slightly curved, but not enough to be scoliosis, I've had it checked earlier this year. What could be the problem? It's really bad in the morning, when I'm moving around and functioning it's also becoming a problem, I'm only 24 years old, I shouldn't have a back problem. I also have no health insurance..

You are very young to have so much pain in your lower back. I say you should get it checked out. Do you remember doing anything to injure it? Did you lift anything heavy? Do you exercise?
