New User, Becoming EHEALTHy
My daughter, 26 years old believes she is allergic to shellfish.
After eating shrimp or even being in a room where it is being cooked her throat gets itchy and also her face gets itchy.

She went to an allergist who tested her both with the skin prick and a blood test and she tested NEGATIVE for all shellfish.

We are very surprised and baffled at this. We're not sure if she should take a risk and try it or be safe! P.S. - my husband has a SEVERE allergy to all shellfish.

Has anyone else every encountered this??

I think it's best that your daughter trust her inner voice...and it seems to be telling her to avoid shellfish. I believe I am allergic to some foods which don't appear on the skin prick and blood tests ... (wheat, coffee, etc,)... and have had these confirmed by alternative medicine specialists. There is a process of hair analysis that might be able to help provide evidence of her allergy, but it might be best for her to simply avoid these foods. Sometimes, we just have to go with our own instincts!
