About 3 years ago I was T-Boned at 70 miles an hour. I broke my hip off at the ball joint and shattered my femur in about 9 other places. The Dr. went in and put a 12 inch metal plate in my leg and hip with all together 9 screws. I've been doing good however I have pains off and on. I've been told many different things and been to about 4 different Doctors and everyone has a different opinion. A couple days ago I started getting a very bad pain in my thigh. Like a stabbing pain and its every time I twist my leg. When I move I have to keep my leg completely straight otherwise I get the pain and I can't bend at the knee or walk up and down stairs normal, etc. I was just curious if anyone else has ever experienced anything like this? I've had similar pains before and I thought it was just scar tissue however this time its 10 times worst. If anyone can give me advice I would appreciate it I have an appointment for thursday so we'll see.

There are so many things that this could be that where do you start?...I think it is in the hip...My husband had something very similar to this before he had the surgery...So much is controlled at the hip as far as the knee movement is involved...Everything works together...It could possibly be a screw that has become dislodged...

Go with the best doctor around when you make your decision on what to be done...I never realized until we got into these surgeries that the more searching you do, the better one on one consultation and information you can find out...Yours has been a rough time...I can't imagine the pain that you have gone through...Just be careful that you do not fall before they have taken care of this...

I wish you well...

Thank You
I scheduled an appointment for thursday so we'll see what happens. My main concern is how can they tell through x-rays if theres tissue damage. If it is a screw that is becoming dislodged it will probably show up on x-ray I would think, but I can't get an MRI because of the plate. I'm only 22 so my body heals up fast its just this is something different i've never felt. I've torn scar tissue in there before and its somewhat similar however this is way worse and happen when I twist my leg in anyway. Thank You
