I am 20 years old and am having 2-3 cycles a month. I am also having very sharp pains inside my private area. I just recently saw a gyn on 3/30/09 and the dr wasn't able to tell me what was wrong. I was scheduled for my pap that day but was bleeding. She tried giving my the pap because i informed her of my pains. She wasn't able to do the full exam but was able to test for a couple std's and didn't find anything abnormal. I have never had an abnormal pap. My cycles last anywhere from 2-7 days and are light to medium (sometimes heavy but not usually). These pains are very random and last anywhere from a couple seconds to 30 mins. Some are sharper pains than others. My mom thinks I may have cervical cancer.. but since i haven't had an std is that possible? What could be causing my pains and irregular bleeding?
