Q: Sharp stomach pains in morning

I have read a few of the topics about this but no replies have really solved the mystery for me. The pain starts right after my boyfriend wakes up. He says it is a sharp, tight feeling that is not quite like nausea or upset stomach and it lasts for about an hour and a half. Gets worse even when he tries to drink some water and the same when he tries to eat. It is the only time of the day or night that he feels this strange pain and he has had this happen for over a year now. He does smoke before bed but I am not sure if that is the reason.

I would really appreciate the feedback ^^

Extremely eHealthy
He can be checked for stomach lining inflammation (gastritis) or stomach ulcer, since the stomach pain occurs when food or liquid come in contact with the stomach lining.

Best wishes!

Thanks for the reply. He has the pain before he eats or drinks anything, and then when he tries it gets worse.
