Hello and welcome to eHealth forum!

Ok you can do a simple test and see. Walk around or change position and see if the contractions stop or slow down. If they do it is a false alarm. Also such false contractions are felt only in lower abdomen and pelvis and not in the back. Their force does not increase with time. Such contractions are also called Braxton Hick’s contractions. If the pains do not fit the above criteria, please consult an obstetrician immediately.

It would be wise to inform your obstetrician about them. Hope this helps. Take care!
