This afternoon at work, while not exerting myself nor really doing anything out of the ordinary, I had a sudden, buckling kind of pain under my left ribs. I had to bend over in my chair it was so severe. I have treated now for a couple of years with a gastro guy, endo and colononoscopy both normal (mild gastritis after endoscopy, but that was nearly two years ago, I took prevacid for quite a while) but now see a holistic guy and have been doing consistently better in the gastro dept, so this was alarming to me. Have read on the boards about everything from rib cartilage tearing to swollen spleens, so decided to submit my own question to a doctor. I had an awful cold over this past weekend, that I am just now coming out of, and then I read that swollen spleens are symptomatic of mono. I have never had mono so have no frame of reference, am feeling kind of run-down and I want to be sure this is nothing big as we are moving next week and that is sure to entail at least some heavy lifting. Any thoughts as to what this could be are welcome. This is the first incidence of such pain in that locale. I took a 200 mg Advil real quick and hope that staves off furhter issues with the pain this evening.
