i been having sharp pain in my left overy it hurts bad so i went to see my obgyn and i am tender there on my left side.he wants me too take a pregnancy shot evey three months but why i have my tubes tied for 5 years now?

Butterflies, it is probably to regulate your hormones. The pill and shot are also useful for other things, not just pregnancy prevention.

Why do you not ask your doctor to explain why he wants to give you the shot.
