Abdominal pain and other symptoms of appendicitis can vary greatly in different people.
Abdominal pain due to appendicitis, usually, starts in the area around the belly button, and slowly moves to the right lower abdomen (toward the right hip) over the next 24 hours.
It takes 6-10 hours for the pain to get worse and steady.
Pain due to inflammation of internal organs in abdominal cavity, like pain due to appendicitis, typically is aggravated by sneezing, coughing or any jarring motion.
Only complete evaluation of history of your symptoms, abdominal physical exam ( abdominal rigidity, marked abdominal distention, marked abdominal tenderness, and rebound abdominal tenderness), and blood test, can help your physician to determine or exclude a possible diagnosis of appendicitis.
It is good to know that this pain can be referred from the lungs, and people who have lung disease like pneumonia, may have abdominal pain as a symptom, too.
See your physician!
