Sharp pain in upper lung

Hi, I'm a 22-year old male. Over the last couple of weeks I've been experiancing a sharp pain in my upper right lung when taking a deep breath or making certain kinds of movement. It has proggressively been getting worse and its a pain I havn't really experianced before. I'm a full-time college student and I don't have health insurance so I'm reluctant to see a doctor. I've had asthma my entire life though so I typically take my lung health pretty serious and usually procede with caution. What could be the causes of this sharp pain? and does it sound serious enough that I need to see a doctor?
