Q: Sharp pain in limbs

About almost a year ago i started getting intense sharp pain in my arms or legs almost like a pinching from inside. I didnt do anything about it because it died down for a little bit and became less intense. I have just dealt with it hoping it would go away completely but after so long, i want to find out why this is happening. It is completely random in timing and place, and intensity but is most often in my hands or wrists. Sometimes when it is in my arms, my arm becomes numb as if i have cut off the circulation when i havent or my arms just become weak when doing simple activities like typing right now or writing.

Is the pain coming from the muscles or the joints?

You might want to talk to your general physician first...even better if you can make an appointment WHEN the pain is occurring so that you can better answer questions about the symptoms. And, perhaps later...you'll need to see an orthopedist or neurologist. But make a first appointment and follow up later.
