If your headache feels like piercing, throbbing, or electric-shock-like chronic pain in the upper neck, back of the head, and behind the ears, is probably, occipital neuralgia.
Usually, begins in the neck and then spreads upwards.
The scalp may be tender to the touch, and the eyes especially sensitive to light.
The pain can be felt behind eyes and at the forehead, too.
Irritation or injury to the occipital nerves, is a cause of this condition.
Best wishes!
