This type of headache in most of the cases is not attributed to another disorder.
It can happen in migraine sufferers, but, in people free of migraine, too.
Some clinicians think that intermittent deficit in central pain control mechanisms (when certain nerve pathways are irritated) play role in this headache.
Although, in most of the cases this headache isn't linked to serious problems, still, malignant process must be excluded by physician.
