Im not sure whats wrong with me. Over the past few weeks i havent slept properly because i keep waking up by either my arm or my leg jerking. It got so bad that last night my husband couldnt cuddle me because i kept twitching.
I am on pain-management for my back but my medications havent changed. Although saying that i have started taking Zoloft about 3 months ago but i have taken that before a few years back and it didnt do anything like this. It seems to be getting worse too.

Are you aware of those arm and leg movements or you are performing them unconsciously?
Do you experience such jerking during the day when resting or moving?

Yes i am aware of them. I get them as i'm just about to fall asleep, semi sleep state. I have had it before where it feels like i'm falling and then wake up but its not like that. Its either my leg or arm or my whole body that jerks. I dont experience it at any other time though, only at night when i go to sleep. Any suggestions? I would really appreciate it, thanks.

According to your symptoms you could be experiencing so called "restless leg syndrome". Restless leg syndrome can be due to several disorders like:
1. taking medicines that cause dopamine blockage - Zoloft (sertaline) is one of them.;
2. pregnancy and old age;
3. iron-deficit anemia;
4. electrolite disturbances;
5. unknown cause (idiopathic)
You can consult some neurologist for some examinations and getting right diagnosis.

Thank you. I just had some blood-work done and all my vitals were normal so maybe it is the Zoloft causing it. I did take it before though and it didnt do this but i only took it for 3 months. Anyway thanks again, i will mention it to the doctor.
