Hi everyone. great place.

I hope someone can help me or share their own experience with me. Lately I have been feeling trembling inside my body from head to toe. Most of the times, it is accompanied by a swaying sensation, that is if I am sitting I feel like the chair is moving, or if I am laying down, the bed is swaying. It is very upsetting. And when I walk, it is like my feet are not steady. So I get really scared.

I had this a few years ago, for the first time. I had it for months, and one day it just stopped. But now it is back...

I suffer from SVT and I have diabetes. I am overweight... I have been a panic attack sufferer for last 10 years. But I have come to deal with it, quite well over the years. Not all the time, but I try my best...
I am giving all these details in hope someone can tell me what cause the inner tremors and swaying sensation.

Please share any comments, experience with me.

Thanks in advance...

The anxiety causes the tremors, but about the swaying sensation and not being steady on your feet: it can be caused by anxiety(I can give myself the impression I am swaying an rocking if I close my eyes and think about it) but maybe you could also see an ENT specialist to check your ears. The fluid in our inner ear is what gives us balance and that might be upset for one reason or another.

Thanks for the replies.

No new medication lately. I have been taking the same ones for years now. Diabetes ones and also verapamil, which controls heart rate.

I don't have panic attacks too often. It comes in spells, for a few weeks, I will have the symptoms and then with some anti depressants, it gets better. With time and hard work, I have come to accept that it forms part of my life.

As for the inside tremors, it is so upsetting. I can't really settle. I can't focus at work, because I keep feeling the chair moving. I had that in 2004, it took a long time to go. Just one day, it stopped..without me doing anything specific. Now it is back and I don't know why. I am no more stressed than I have been before... Yes, I am a very anxious person, but I have lived quite well with it.

I just wish I could find the cause of this, and most of all a treatment.

I went to see an ENT doctor, nothing wrong there... so I am at a lost...

Thanks again for your replies... and for any future ones...

swaying stress anxiety
Hi, I could also do with an answer to this problem too, it is the worst thing I have ever experienced, had it a few months now, had a hard time last yr with life stuff and was constantly breaking down and teary, felt really unhappy, doc put my on Prozac and beta blockers, they really helped but i hate taking tablets and felt embarrassed that i needed so much help so i came off them after 4-5 months, now I suffer with the swaying thing, feel like my legs arn't going to carry me and i get anxious about it, anxious that im going to collapse, anxious that i have something awful like a brain tumour or something, i find that if something keeps me very very occupied (which isn't much lately) then I don't notice it but i've recently been made redundant and i now i notice it often, i have some days where im fine but i think its made worse by the fact that i'm waiting for it to happen most of the day so im making myself aware of it constantly, I feel like a freak, is it depression? Stress? Anxiety? other sites are saying menopause but surely not in mid 30's, i just want it to go away and be normal again. I find it hard to pin point where the symptoms are coming from, is it my eyes? Head? Legs? Back? Neck? It's weird!

I have been feeling the same way. I have been suffering with anxiety for about 10 yrs and am on Effexor. But for the past 2 months, I am dizzy/swaying when i walk or move. It feels as though i am going to faint. I am not sure what this is....I went to an ENT, he said everything was fine, my primary dr just did a physical, blood work etc., everything was fine. It's sooooo scary. I am only 28 and should feel like this!

Hi mrichard - I agree with you, its really scary but i think thats the problem, im feeling mine is all down to stress to start with and then into the worry category. I was stressed to breaking point last year then with all the symptoms i was feeling i convinced myself i was going to die, i started freaking out and thats when the swaying started, i kinda learned to live with it as my doc said it was a typical symptom of depression/stress/anxiety, i was made redundant a few weeks ago and the stress problem came back, now i've started doing some really interesting bits and bobs of work at home which keeps my mind occupied and i find when im really concentrating i don't think about it at all, i really believe its the mind that plays tricks on you, you wait for the swaying to start every minute of every day then when it does you going into anxiety mode, i dunno how to stop it, im a natural worrier but rest assured you are not the only one, I have been told that it goes just as quick as it comes, I also believe that mine started from complete and utter boredom doing the same job day in day out, not enjoying it and feeling really fed up, i wish you all the best, if you wanna chat, feel free x
