You could have a problem with your hymen. Have you ever been to a gynecologist? A cribiform hymen has lots of small holes - enough to allow for menstruation but none large enough to insert a penis. This problem can be easily fixed in the doctor's office.

If you have not done so yet, take a mirror and make sure you know what is going on there. Do not be afraid to poke and prod with your finger. There is absolutely nothing you can break down there. Use extra lubricant if you need to. Saliva on your finger may be enough.

If you are both virgins, also let your husband take a good look, Show him all your parts so that he knows what is going on. Remember that he grew up with a penis and did not even need to bend over to figure out what was going on with his genitals. You would be surprised at how ignorant men grow up about our bodies. Even if he is not a virgin he may still be clueless about your anatomy.

You will pretty soon figure out if the vaginal opening is unobstructed or obstructed by a hymen. If you have been using tampons without a problem, it is likely that the hymen will not be an obstruction. When the penis enters the first time there might however be some pain and blood as the hymen tears to the size of the vaginal opening. That is perfectly normal.

If the hymen is still a problem and he can not force his penis in, you need to visit your doctor. They will make a small cut in the hymen to open up the vaginal opening.

Also remember to use enough lubricant for sex if your body does not make enough by itself. Having sex without enough lubrication is not fun!

Best of luck!

it's a possibility you have Vaginismus.is a condition where there is involuntary tightness of the vagina during attempted intercourse.
Are you a virgin?
you should use ky-jelly, and try to relax. your husband has to be very patient with you, and take his time.

Have you ever had pelvic inflamatory disease or a pelvic inflamitory infection? This causes the vaginal walls to become inflamed making it nearly impossible to have intercourse. Have you not been able to accomplish it at all or have you been able to and had too much intercourse maybe making you a bit too dry for any more?
