Hi, I am trying to find out the ethics and practices of polygraphs being demanded prior to treatment. My fiance was recently told he must conduct a polygraph prior to the demanded treatment given by the county. Is this correct? Can a doctor demand this to happen prior to treatment? Does it not violate the rights of a patient and does it not conflict with the treatment if right off the bat the doctor is further causing anxiety with his demand? He is not a predator but wants to complete his treatment, but he fills as though his being treated unfairly. Can you please help me out here. I am in therapy and have been for years and never once have I seen this come up.
