hi im in need of someones help i broke up with my partner and took comfort in a friend
i had sex with the friend on the 27th of march i then got my period on the 1st of april then i got back together with my partner inbetween all this, i had sex with my partner towards the end of my period i worked out the conceiving dates and it works out if i have a normal 28 day cycle which i do, i would be fertile between the 8th of april-14th april and would have conceived then am i correct??
I had an early scan done at about 8 week and that stated i was due jan the 6th which would then make all my dates add for it to be my partners baby!! BUT
then i had my 20 week scan just the other week and i was ment to be 20 weeks on this day but i was showing 5 days ahead
which had made me think could this baby ruin my already perfect little family and be the friends baby ???
when did i conceive??

Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum!

Ultrasound scans to determine the age of baby can be off the mark by a week or two too in the second trimester (after 12 weeks). Hence this is not a very accurate method. You had your periods on 1st of April, and hence having sex before that has not resulted in the baby. Moreover on 27th March you were in the safe zone and sex anyways could not have resulted in the pregnancy.

Rest assured the baby is your partner’s. Relax and enjoy your pregnancy. Such variations will keep cropping up at every ultrasound you have. Hope this helps. Take care!
