hi. im new to this forum. this may be long, but here goes...

my boyfriend and i had sex a couple times right about the time of ovulation without using any contraceptives. (about 10 days ago) since then, ive noticed my boobs are especially sore and im discharging waaaay more than ususal. im not unfamiliar with these symptoms right before my period, but ive been experiencing them much sooner than normal and they're must stronger. i've also felt more tired even though i get enough sleep in the night. i dont know if my mind is playing tricks on me or if i really could be pregnant. i've also noticed the veins in my boobs are much more apparent. im planning on taking a test in the next 2 weeks just to make sure ive waited long enough for correct results.

but hearing peoples opinions would be helpful, so please feel give your input! thanks

You had unprotected sex. Of course you may be pregnant. Since I don't know when your last period was, I can't tell you whether or not these symptoms are in your head. The earliest most people start to get any symptoms is around the same time you miss a period. That's when your body starts to physically notice so anything before then is unrelated or in your imagination. If you're already late for a period, then you might as well test now. If you're not, wait until then, and of course, that means your symptoms are also unrelated.

You really need to protect yourself. You just set yourself up to become pregnant, so unless that's what you're going for, you need to get on birthcontrol immediately.

Agree with Reptar.

Go ahead and test. They say you will get an accurate result 2 weeks after the unprotected sex.

Get on birth control and make sure your partner is using condoms! Just because your boyfriend says he's faithful, it's not always the case. Unfortunately, a lot of teens contract STDs this way-they think their partners are being faithful when they are not.

i think you are. thats similar to what happen to me. i would go get a blood test done its more accurate. i dont trust home tests, because i took five and they were negative and then i went for a blood test and it was positive.

well my last period was april 5. im 24 and my boyfriend and i have been together for the past 6 years, and are planning on getting married in the next 2 years. i've been on birth control before and i had just started a new pack. we had sex during the first week of me starting my new thing of bc (ortho tri cylcen) but i was also sick & taking antibiotics, which i didnt know cancel out the effects of bc if they're taken together. honest mistake.

if i am pregnant, im not worried about it. i will happily accept it...thats not the issue. i just wanted feedback on these symptoms without relationship advice.

you had unprotected sex, yes you could be!
is your period late? if it is, there is no need in waiting extra for accurate results. It will be accurate now if you are late.
Get a test and see.
OR go to your doctor, talk to him about your symptoms and see if these are just from switching bc, taking antibiotics or if your pregnant. He or she could do a blood test for you whichi can tell you if you are pregnant, and is 100% accurate.

ok when is your period due?
is it late? now your saying it could be early because of some reddness...
implantation bleeding occurs about a week after conception on average between 6-12 days past ovulation.
it could be implantation bleeding, so you should test again im pretty sure it would be accurate.
on pregnancy test boxes it says you can test 4 days before your expected period

if my period comes after the 28 day cycle, then it should be arriving on the 3rd of may at the earliest. so that's about 6 days from now. today would be in between 8-12 days after conception would have been. i read about the implantation bleeding, which describes what happend today. its not heavy at ALL like a normal period is for me, and my cylce is usually longer than a 28 day cycle.

i took a test this afternoon. it wasnt my morning urination, but i couldn't wait and it said negative, which im not surprised by. i think i'll wait a week and see what this bleeding does, and who knows...maybe it will turn into a period.

ok so...your not late.
your stressing. and that could be what is giving you this spotting.
i would think, it is mostly from you switching birth control.
when taking birth control some symptoms are similar to pregnancy symptoms, and you just got on a new one so that could be what its from.

She didn't switch birth control, she said she started a new pack.

What was the length of time between taking the packs?

okay....i have taken this birth control before. months ago. and it was fine. even when i started it for the first time i never had any symptoms like this. i havnt been on any kind of bc for at least 3 months until i started it this month. i ended up taking the first pill about 4 days before ovulation time bc i messed up on the actual "sunday start" date. so essentially i was unprotected.

bleeding is still not heavy at all. its a very light bright red, not like a dark red how it usually is when i start and its very watery, not thick or goopy. it is also accompanied by very dull lower back pain, but heavy abdominal cramps. usually its the opposite for me when im on my period. most of the time its really strong back pains and hardly ever any abd. cramps.

So you were not using birth control for 3 months.
Then started this month April.
It sounds like the birth control your taking. It can mess up your system when starting it. And you were off it for a while.

Try taking a pregnancy test..

no. its not the birth control. im familiar with this birth control & have stopped taking it before and never had any bleeding or whatever.

what's going on right now is it feels like a very mild period. and very light bleeding. i used a tampon bc i dont have pany liners in the house and after using it over night, this morning it was a mix of bright red and brown. same for all day today. used one for most of the day. red and brown.

sure maybe it could be a period, but it just feels DIFFERENT. i never bleed this little and my periods are never early.

you could just be having a light period then.
brown blood is discharge of dried blood.

Let me correct this:

Brown blood is OLD blood. It is common while on birth control.
