Hi all,

Well let me start off by saying that after all this time I have found that Headaches are one of the main problems from a series of others.

Basically after some kind of "Nervous Breakdown" due to high Anxiety,I have been getting Headaches(pressure/tension all round the head, not migrane type but just as bad) on a daily basis ever since which has had a massive effect on my functioning ability to do simple tasks like even going to a shopping noisy centre can trigger off a severe episode that can last weeks.I also chronic Insomnia due to the headaches. My symptoms are Blurred vision, poor concentration, pain in the head,Insomnia, difficulty communicating with people.Sometimes I can see death as the only way out of the pain
I've been to the Doctors and Specialist Psychiatrists with not much luck and they fail to understand the seriousness of the headaches and instead put me on a high dose of anti-depressants and anti-psychotics which do nothing for my headaches and Insomnia.
Currently after some self research we have come up with some medication which helps mild headaches, but not when they become full blown(would like to know a specific medication that is for headaches)
Remeron 15mg
Zopiclone
Ativan
5-HTP

Using the computer less in the evening has helped somewhat.I understand the glare can cause issues? but hasn't really solved it .

I will be grateful for any replies

Hi

How long? Basically 24 hours a day, from moderate to more severe.
They seem to get worse in the evening before bed.

I haven't taken any other medicines previous to these

The sleep problems arose at about the same time as the Headaches,
but I believe Stress/Anxiety/Depression was the precipitating factor in it.
Not being able to sort my life out may be one reason why I haven't recovered properly, but not getting the right medical treatment and knowing that their might not be a cure for it is very frustrating

It seems like you are experiencing chronic (headaches present for more that 15 consecutive days in one month) tension headache.
The "severity" of a tension headache increases significantly with its frequency.
Depression, anxiety, tension are all triggers for this kind of headache (it is proved that people with chronic tension-type headache may also have imbalance in neurochemicals, like in case of depression).
Disturbed concentration, irritability, chronic fatigue, mild sensitivity to light or noise, difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep, are all features of chronic tension type.
Blurred vision is not so common symptom of tension headache, but, occasionally, this headache will be accompanied by nausea, blurred vision, and, hearing changes.
