Q: severe swelling in ankles and calves

I have an illness doctors cannot solve and one of the symptoms they are still unable to explain is my severely swollen ankles. They feel like gel and I leave deep crevices or holes when I push into the fluid around me feet ankles, and calves. It is working its way up and now is at my knees. I have it every day. My legs ache all of the time and I can hardly walk from the pain, fatigue, and feeling that they are going to burst open. I have had an ultrasound and they say there are no clots. I just finished many cardiology tests that only showed some mild tachycardia. This started about 8 months ago and about 6 months into my mystery illness. Anyone have any ideas, thoughts, or share this problem?

Have you noticed some changed color of your leg skin?
Was your kidney function checked with tests?
