severe depression & mood swings Posted: 05-18-08 10:18am
I am
new to this forum thing so bear with me
please. I am post total hysterectomy
2/12/08. I have been noting alot of
different changes and some of them r
scaring the heck out of me. One min I can
be happy, smiling and go lucky and then
turn into ab**** in 5.0 secs, when I am
not angry I am crying. I am 35 and my gyno
won't put me on hormones becasuse he
states I am to young and that they cause
blood clots. What else is out there I
have been put on anti depressants but they
don't seen to be helping. Help!!

Welcome to e-health
Sorry you are having symptoms. I have
been trying soy milk, and herbal
supplements, such as Black Cohosh. They
seem to be helping a bit. I am 4 months
post-hyst.

You can use progesterone cream...Happy
PMS. It is natural and effective for
things like that...and almost necessary
for preventing other health problems that
you will run into down the road. It isn't
going to cause blood clotting ( I believe
it is estrogen that he is thinking will
cause this.)
Since you're problem is hormonal, the
anti-depressants are not going to work and
may make you even worse.

How long have you been on your
antidepressants? I always feel a
difference at around 4 weeks.
