Q: Severe delusions

my brother is a year or two off 'ice' but has severe delusions..now he wants to hitchhike to Washington DC to meet the President..says he will be part of the 'unit'...you know--cia--national security...question is can his family force him to get help before he hurts himself or someone else?

It doesn't sound like it wouldbe safe for your brother to hitch hike anywhere..Hitch hiking is dangerous enough for someone stable..Does your brother have a councelor-anyone who helped him get off (ice)? If yes please give thema call.. I don't believe anyone can do anything for your brother unless he wants the help or if he is violent towards self or others then he could be commited..At least in my state that is the way it is..I would check with local authorities and see what the requirements are for your area...
