Question

Hi. I'm a 23 year old female. I have been dealing with anxiety for about 3 years now. At first I was terrified of them but I've gotten fairly good at distracting myself and reminding myself that it won't kill me and that has helped me keep it under control. By under control I mean not visiting the emergency room everytime I get a little dizzy or my pulse speeds my up.
However, in the past two months or so I've begun to experience some new symptoms that are rather disquieting. These include; severe headaches (migraines, tension and clusters. My head feels heavy alot. Jaw pain that radiates from my jaw, into my eyes, ears and neck. Stiffness and soreness in the back of my neck, sometimes so bad i cannot move my neck. Shoulder and arm pain and pain in near my shoulder blades. My eyes tire easily and now my vision is becoming blurry and i have double vision that, despite multiple surgeries, seems to be getting worse ( I do wear glasses). Ringing in my ears and sometimes my right ear goes deaf mometarily and then rings badly for a few minutes. And now this week a brand new symptom: tingling sensations in my scalp. Its incessant and very irritating. What's going on here?
I've been to many doctors. None seem to take me seriously and i think its because i'm young and on medicaid. They figure its nothing major and brush me off. I had a CT scan dabout two years ago and everything came up fine.
Are these symptoms anxiety related or could they be something more? I hate to say this, but its gets to the point where i think being dead would be more comfortable than i feel everyday. Of course i would never kill myself, but thats how bad i feel all the time. I'm always tied and something always hurts. I have a two year old daughter and this greatly reduces the quality of the time we spend together because i am often aggravated. Is this anxiety or could it be something else?

excuse me but are WE TWINS?!??!
I am 22 tho..
I have ALL OF THE ABOVE AND MORE!!!!!
I have gotten myself under control within the past year. Took me 1 year to figure out that nothing is happening and no one is bothering me and I am just fine and dandy!
The stiffness in your neck and stabbing pain running down the arm, shoulder and discomfort.. I have it right this very second. Soo bad I can't turn my own head but it has gotten alot better over the past 3 days.
That is caused from sleeping with a fan blowing on you, or sleeping with wet hair, or sleeping with a window open or some kind of coldness drafting on your while your asleep. You have 2 at home options, you can use an ice pack on for 20 mins, off for 20 mins.. or a heating pad. I prefer the heat, it makes it feel better faster. Take a tynleol or advil or something that will loosen the muscles and relax the nerves.
The pain in your head.. I HAD that too!
It is in fact stress mixed with anxiety.
Theres alot you can conjur up yourself!
Alot of the feelings are self made. Your brain loves to play tricks on you and it may seem like being dead is better than living through your own personal hell but it will get better.
Have you ever considered yoga or a relaxing sport?
Walking or excersing not only gets the blood flowing to all points in your body but also relaxes your muscles.
Taking a warm bath with maybe some lavendar baby wash or soap will make you relax instantly.
A warm bath masks the tension in your body,.
Jaw pain, is probably from you grinding your teeth or clutching your jaw very hard. Its common when your stressed out or scared or in a panic to tighten your jaw to the point where when its trying to relax its going to hurt!
I am sorry your having all this, I do know exactly how it feels. I am here if you want to chat. I think you can access my Instant Message screen name or just email me. Im here.. I know all about it!!

Severe Anxiety and worsening symptoms
It's good to know i'm not the only one. Just to know that someone else has the same things going on is comforting. My family tells me it's all psychosomatic (which i know is true) and to just calm down and don't worry. I don't think they understand that it's an anxiety DISORDER, which means that whatever mechanism triggers anxiety is not working properly and when attacks strike, it's really out of my control. I'm not a nervous person by nature.
It's also good to know the fan thing, because i sleep with a box fan blowing right on me. I can't sleep without it. So at least that's one less thing i have to be scared about.
i read somewhere that the tingling on my scalp could be caused by TMJ or bruxism. And if that's the case, i don't really feel like i need to be treated. Just knowing its explainable and generally harmless is enough for me. I just end up worrying its a brain aneurysm or some kind of nerve disorder. Severe things like that scare me.
Thanks so much for replying. I'm new to this so dunno about the IM thing, but i will post here as long as people reply to me.

I used to be scared to death about the brain aneurysm too! I was like oh my goodness, I have a massive headache am I going to die now!?!?!?!
I would work myself up soo bad to the point where I would feel like I was falling asleep and going to die but it was just a regular headache. For 4 years I didn't take any kind of medication. If I had a headache then I would use a cold rag or something.
I can't sleep without fans either, point it to another direction on your body and not soo much at your face.

Im brand new here too, just started today.

let me say i understand your concern as i have them to.i beleive the anxiety attacks lead to some medical issues because of the high stree level and its ther body's way with dealing with it.seek medical advice and make sure u always get a second opinion.because once u visit the same doctors more then a couple times and they dont find anything there quick to label it anxiety.so beware and only you really know how your body feels reguardless what your told.
