so iv been having sever pains on and off for about 3 months now in the upper right of my abdomen, first i went to my gp and he gave me tablets to reduce stomach acid, and they did nothing, i then had another episode of the severe pain and went to the local hospital but they told me to go to my gp again, then i was told to just manage the pain with paracetamol. since this iv been to a&e and the dr told me it sounds like gallstones from were the pain is coming from and i need to get refereed to a scan from my gf (i have an appointment on Thursday), but the last 3 days iv been waking up in the night with pain in both sides just above my hips (id guess where my kidneys are), its not like the pain iv been getting in my abdomen but very discomforting. iv not just round blood in my stool (in it, not around it, iv had an anal fissure before and its not like that) and im really worried. would just like an option because my gp isnt helping alot and the pains are getting worse. any ideas ??

you may want to ask them to also check your appendix if it's in your abdomen and on the right side. Other than that it may kidney stones if you're hurting in the lower to mid back area. Stones can be very painful and pain killers will not help but make it worse you need to pass them and it sometimes takes a little time.

Good luck

Please check your intestine (small and large) for parasites, some parasites can cause not only pain but also bloody stool. Localization of your pain suggest large intestine so please do test for possible parasites that live in the large intestine.

Good luck!
