...about 4800mg based on the prescription bottle and when it was filled. She is in the ICU of a local hospital right now.
I was there all day and she is very sleepy and disoriented. I called awhile ago and the RN said she had been hallucinating.
I watched her do it last night but she drove me out of the house awhile. I thought she would throw up and be miserable but I guess she never did.
When I could not get any response out of her this morning as far as trying to wake her up I figured I better Call EMS after talking to poison control.
She used to take Prozac prescribed by our PCP but when she started seeing a psychiatrist earlier in the year he put her on Lamectol at first and she never could sleep so she finally got him to take her off and he told her to take the Seroquel.
It seems to me that her mood swings, anger issues and aggressiveness Have gotten much worse since they took her off of Prozac. Sometimes I don't think these psychiatrist have a clue what their dealing with because there is just not enough time to spend with each patient. They seem to have a medication agenda too.
Since she is in a hospital maybe they will actually get her the right help at local Psyche hospital.
When I was in my 20's in the early 90's all you had to do was say you were depressed and the insurance would let you stay there for a month and work things out.
I wish she could have as moving of an experience as I did back then but today's insurance sucks. She will be lucky to get 72 hours or something that's not outpatient.
At least for now I know she is in good hands and being taken care of.
