Ok, so i never realized i had a septate hymen until now because i would notice that when i would insert tampons in during my period, they would occassionaly get stuck on a piecce of skin. i never thought it was my hymen though.
anyway.
when me and my boyfriend had sex for the first time, it hurt really really badly. and when i went to the bathroom all i saw was blood. after i cleaned up, i noticed that part of the hymen had been broken. but the other side of it was still attatched to me! i tried to pull it off but it hurt too badly.
and i just want to know how to get rid of this.
will it come off while i am on my period?
should i just pull it off?
will it come off by itself???
i mean, what can the gyno do that i cant do at home, myself???.....just a quick snip.......
eeekkk
please help.

It just sounds like you have a stubborn hymen. There are some woman that have one up until they give birth. Unless it causes a lot of problems (tampons don't sound like too big of deal), then I'd talk to your gyno. There's no reason you need to pull it off or even mess with it. If it interferes with intercourse, simply move it out of the way when he penetrates.

I think you might want to see a gyno about it. Even if it is a neat little snip, wouldn't you want to do that where you know it will be clean and safe?

Talk to your gyno, they will be able to help you get rid of it with a lesser chance of infection.

And that's something that I'm sure you would want to avoid at all costs yes?

Ohhhh you tried to rip it off yourself? That gave me goosebumps gross, don't touch it having it there is perfectly safe unless it bothers you during sex which i imagine it wouldn't. But touching it and trying to pull it away could tear your vaginal wall and give you an infection which I am sure you wouldn't like, so since you have already tampered with it maybe go to your GP to make sure you haven't cut the wall.
