I have a septate hymen, although it has not caused as many problems as it appears to have for many of the other users on this forum! It freaked me out real bad for a while after I figured out something was "wrong" with me (my school does not have sex ed, so I never realized I was different).

My main question is, is a septate hymen (or any other hymen that is not annular, or the "normal" hymen) a genetic disorder, or does it just happen randomly? I've tried to research it, but found nothing.
