We burp, belch and fart an average of 12 times a day. But why do we have gas? And what is intestinal gas?...the basics here....

Q: Sensation of orgasm without semen flow

I have had a total colectomy and later a bladder reconstruction because of a surgical accident during the colectomy. My prostrate plexus nerve was also a little damaged in the surgery. I now cant have an erection BUT 9 months post surgery I am able to experience the sensation of an orgasm but without any semen flow. Im wondering what would be happening to the semen that is being produced in my seminal vessel and if I am able to orgasm with no erection and no show of semen could there be some internal ejaculation happening, maybe semen flowing into my bladder? Where else could it go?

Most likely your ejaculation is retrograde and going into the bladder and then passed by urinating.

Retrograde ejaculation is an extremely rare condition and not a typical risk of colectomy, but anything is possible once you cut into the pelvis. What has your doctor said about this issue?

I saw my doctor today and he suggested the same "Retrograde ejaculation". I also have a mucus like strings in my urine. He suggests this may be sperm OR mucus from a transplant of intestine into my ureter. The mucus of the intestine is still producing and may be washing down into the bladder. Any other suggestions? Basically I've been told nothing can be done

If you're not getting UTIs and you're able to become erect and experience orgasm I think it's ok to count your lucky stars. If your fertility is a concern perhaps look into a second opinion. Definitely keep watch for any other irregularities in your reproductive health
