self help for yeast infection
Yeast naturally occurs in everyone in minute harmless amounts. They inhabit our mouth, throat, intestine and genito-urinary tract. As long as they are controlled by our good bacteria (acidophilus) they remain harmless. Through poor eating habits and/or antibiotic use this harmless fungi mutates into an invasive and pathogenic (disease causing) fungi.

You can go on for years and never realize that you have a "yeast invasion." It is a slow process that can cause a variety of psychological, neurological or physical symptoms such as: Gastro-intestinal tract, chronic heartburn, gastritis, colitis, gas, constipation, diarrhea or rectal bleeding.

Nervous system: Headaches, depression, lethargy, irritability, lack of concentration or memory loss.

Genito-Urinary tract: Fatigue, joint pain, cold hands and feet, food allergies, increased body hair, numbness and tingling, loss of libido, chemical sensitivities, food cravings, sugar craving or mitral valve prolapse.

Respiration: sinusitis, bronchitis, hay fever, earaches or asthma.

Skin: Hives, fungus (yeast) infections, eczema, athletes foot or dermatitis.

What is most disheartening is that we are deceived into thinking that yeast is not a serious condition, when it is. We are not educated on what we must do to keep yeast under control and harmless. There is a lot of very misleading information in the media regarding certain products (creams and suppositories) claiming their product will cure reoccurring yeast infection.

There are many reasons why these creams or suppositories should not be readily available. Number one reason is if someone has a reoccurring vaginal yeast infection there is something seriously wrong. Creams or suppositories are not a cure but merely masks a serious symptom.

Other problems could be compounded by the use of products like these. The solution to the problem doesn't lie in a cream. We have to take control of our lives and educate ourselves in prevention. If a health problem should arise we must learn how to take care of it naturally and take a holistic approach to healing.

Threelac is a preparation that contains three forms of spore-forming lactic acid bacteria. These microorganisms work to help your gastrointestinal tract. Threelac is noted for the way it may help repopulate the intestines with friendly bacteria and is compatible to our bodies for persons in good health.

The secret behind its effectiveness is the micro-encapsulation process. Our stomachs, especially when they are in good condition have a strong, organic, hydrochloric acid and a small amount of lactic acid. It's very antiseptic in its nature and is there to help get rid of germs as well as assist the long task of digestion. In order to get past that strong acid, Threelac is prepared in such a way that the hydrochloric acid does not destroy it at the point of entry into the stomach.

Threelac is not a pill, it is not a "medicine". It is considered to be dietary supplement. It is simple to take because it is a lemony tasting powder, a bit like sherbet in a way. The suggested use is 1 packet per day, immediately before you eat a meal. Let it dissolve in your mouth and immediately drink a 4oz. glass of water. Then eat. Food acts as a buffer to assist the ThreeLac in reaching the small intestine.

Some people have reported that they started out using 2 packets daily for 30 days, and then go back to using 1 packet per day thereafter for maintenance. A few have reported taking 4 or 5 packets to start. It is important to drink lots of water, ½ oz of water to each pound of weight. Children over two years of age may take 1 packet for every 50 pounds of body weight.

After getting over the initial crisis, it is imperative that someone with candida work on improving their bowels. The bowels must be clean so the yeast has nothing to feed off . I suggest taking 1T. of Nature’s Three along with 1T. of Slippery Elm mixed together in 12 oz of water in a shaker cup and drunk immediately. I suggest this to be done twice a day. These products may help clean out the intestines along with building up the lining and repairing the intestines. If someone has leaky gut, adding Una De Gato may help in closing up the holes in the intestines.

Food Enzymes are important in this protocol as it will aid in digestion, thus preventing the food from fermenting in the gut and feeding the yeast. Taking 1 to 2 capsules with every meal and a large snack is suggested.

Silver Shield Gel would be a great relief to add topically to any area showing signs of yeast, athletes foot, finger nail fungus, vaginitis, etc.

Coconut Oil, raw and cold processed, is helpful in killing fungus and parasites as it contains both lauric acid and caprylic acid. Add 2-3T per day to your diet is suggested.

Other natural health practitioners have had success in using Silver Shield in combating candida. I bottle per day for 3 days then ½ bottle for a week then 1 T. for 3 months. The above protocol for colon cleanse is still necessary for the health of the intestines.

Hope this helps,
