Hi Jaredd, Most people cut to take the pain from depression and replace it with physical pain. It's not the solution, but can cause you harm or even death if you should cut through a vein. There are some things you can do instead of cutting. You can place a rubber band around your wrist and snap it against your skin. Crying is very good and releases the desire to cut. Listening to the sound of the skin tearing is something you would want to focus on and will hopefully make it so you will never want to cut again. I understand what you are going through because I've been there, but it's not the answer. I'm here if you should need to talk further.

of course its NOT HELPFUL!
if youre so depressed that you need to replace emotional pain with psychical pain than you need to see a therapist.
announcing that you cut yourself is an even bigger cry for help.
please please
get some professional help

Yes, I agree. This is a serious matter and whenever someone chooses to self-injure it is very important to see a therapist.

WishingBox,

I'm sure you want to stop. Are you in counseling? If not, there are some ways you can try to stop on your own. The most common method is to take a rubber band, put it around your wrist like a bracelet and just snap it on your skin whenever you get the urge to cut yourself. Can I ask how old you are? Do you know what stated this? If you want you can PM me. I went through a bad time in my life when I did the same and I am totally over this.
