I suffer from primary progressive MS. I went to ukraine and was taken ill. I had a couple of seizures and was unconscious for at least 24hrs. When conscious I had speech problems for further 48hrs (this was reported back to me). I cannot remember from when I was taken ill until 4 days afterwards. After these 4 days I felt totally well again but was kept in the hospital for 10days. I had 2 MRI scans, various immune system tests, HIV test and lumbar puncture.
My problem is that I am still waiting to see my neurologist and alll my medical notes are in ukrainian. I am still unaware of what happened to me and why. The weather was very hot (40 degrees).
I was asked lots of questions about what medication I was on for my MS but I am not on anything apart from LDN.

Somone has suggested since my return that my symptoms were similar to encephalitis. I have had a few incidents where my speech went wrong (where I knew what I wanted to say but the words coming out of my mouth were totally different)

I am now back to 100% (well as good as I was before). I do not know what drugs they gave me but whatever I was on seemed to stop my tremors for a while.

Has anyone any comments on what may have happened to me? My partner says that her insurance company tried to translate some of the medical notes (in order to validate her claim at the time of the incident) and they told her 'inflammation of the brain'.

thanks
