I was diagnosed with epilepsy in 93 and I surrendered my driving licence. After being put on medication and seizure free for 12 months, I got my licence back. In September 2006 I purchased my first ever brand new car but in April 08 I had a blackout and fell on the floor at work. I surrendered my licence again for 12 months but kept my car and put my father on my insurance to ferry me to and from work. I was lucky in having a good employer who has put me on light duties until I am able to drive again, which should be April this year. After having my seizure at work I repeated eeg and mri scans which in 93 showed a dark patch on my brain, this time both came back normal. So I get excited and expecting my licence back soon, but Wednesday I had a seizure at home. If I go to the doctors I will lose my licence again for another 12 months and stay on light duties at work. Its a no win situation and one which is stressful and sometimes upsetting. I dont know what to do for the best and wondered if anyone out there had advice or may be have been in a similar situation, thank you.
