Q: Segmental thickening of loops ?

what is segmental thickening of loops, we are very concerned we just got back from the hospital can you give me a better explantion in which may be more in detailed.

Segmental thickening of the loops means that the wall of only a segment of the bowels is thickened. This phrase is used in results from imaging methods. It would mean that the doctor can not visualize quite clearly the reason for the thickening, so it might need further test (for example: biopsy). The cause for the thickening can range from inflammation of the bowels to more serious conditions.
