Q: Seeking a second opinion before surgery
asked by: DoctorQuestion on May 27th, 2009
hi there.
I fell off a chair in 2004,and since then i've had pain in the lower part of my back. in January 2009 i went for ex-rays again(before when i went they didn't find anything wrong.)this time they saw that i dislocated my coccyx.they immediatly told me i HAVE to go for a operation to break and remove my coccyx. i still haven't gone, don't know if i should take that risk. Can u please give me some info or advice on this. would really appreciate it.(by the way,i get pain in my whole back sometimes, is it because of the dislocation of the coccyx?

please help.

Before you get surgery to remove a very important bone in your body it is recommended to get a second, third, and fourth opinion! You may even seek the opinion of a chiropractor or doctor of osteopathy to see if they can manipulate it back into place. Good Luck
