I have had 3 occurrances where I saw something that wasn't there, and there was nothing else near it to mistake it for. These happen when I am drowsy, very relaxed, and not under stress. I am to the point of maybe dropping off to sleep. The first one happened a few years ago. I was laying on my side in bed in a semi-dark room (no lights on) and opened my eyes and saw a very large snake curving away in an "S" shape from me on top of my pillow. It was even with my eyes, very close to me, about 1" in diameter. It sort of just disappeared after a couple seconds, but it was very real, as if it was really there. The other two were not as scary, but one made me jump out of bed in alarm (a long pole with a spiral end was heading straight for me. It was on top of the bed covers. Nothing around it.) I do have sleep problems (I wake up more tired than I was when I went to bed, insomnia, daytime somnolence, etc.) Any clues what causes this? I just had a sleep study but haven't got the results yet. I do know I have a mild case of sleep apnea and I usually consciously wake up one or two times a night at least.

That is odd...

When do you get your sleep study back?

Have you mentioned this to your eye doctor or a therapist?

Sometimes I think I see a shadow or a movement but nothing is there...what you see definately trumps mine.

Uh, I'm not crazy. :-)
These are well-formed things that I can describe in detail. (I wish it were just "shadows." I get the fist stage of sleep study back in a couple weeks. I believe lack of sleep has something to do with this.
