Q: seeing clowns upon waking up in the dark

often when I wake up I see a multicolored 3D image of a clowns face...and if you could only see it through my eyes it is very scary..it sort of reminds me of the exorcist when there are things flashed on the walls and stuff, only the image doesn't go away until I get into a lighted room..it's not a real face...the only way I can describe it is.......when you stare at a black image on a white background for a long time, and when you look away you still see the image in your vision, thats what it is like, sometimes its a plain clown face and sometimes its something that looks like a clown only more scary, this has happened over 30 times that i could remember, i sort of lost count...i can't remember the dreams, but am i dreaming about clowns or something? this really freaks me out especially when i'm alone in my room in the dark, and i always take off running and i get into the dark hallway and it follows me wherever I look. i must seem insane to other people crying and talking about seeing clowns....this bothers me and can anyone give any insight....
p.s. - i have no fear of clowns....just when this happens

I do not really now how to stop it but when i woke up i used to see shadows of figures inmy room or there would be like a dead guy across the floor, i found it even more suprising when my kids started saying they had seen things to. i found it kidn of helps if you wake up slower? if you get what i meen it may not seem possible but sometimes being startled screws your imagination. remember its only your imagination, and i admit i have a slight fear of clowns and im 39 years old. try sleeping with a night light or and i dim lit room if you can.

I advice you to visit a professional, its not healthy for you because it does not allow you to sleep well! You mentioned you are not scared of clowns but seems to be that somehow you have a deep fobia for it, it temptes to happen. Sometimes you think you are ok about something and this little nightmares wake you up of your reality.

Also i should ask you have you seen any movie lately or heard any story about a clown? Because this could affect you this bad. If you sleeping alone you should try to sleep with another person just to make sure it happens when you are alone or if you are with company. Are tiny details but they always good to make sure how everything works this will be the only way to find a solution.
