secondary amenorrhea Posted: 05-18-08 23:46pm
i need answers.
i hope someone could diagnose what i am
experiencing right now.
i am 21 years old. my first menstruation
was when i was 11 years old. i haven't had
my menstruation for 3 months now. i
usually have regular menstruation every
month. my menstruation started to stop
when i went home for a vacation after my
first year in medical school which is very
torturesome. i decided i wanted to lose
weight so i minimized my food intake this
vacation.
what do you think is causing this, is it
all because of my diet? what can i do to
have my menstruation again? what medicine
should i take?
i hope you could help me with this.
P.S. do you know where i could find a
medical forum where discussions of
different cases are talked about?

Definitely minimizing your food intake
could make your period go away. If you're
not getting adequate nutrition, your body
won't support your reproductive cycle.
Make sure you're getting enough food! At
least 1200 calories (probably more if
you're active at all) and proper vitamins
and such- protein, all that.
We don't really discuss cases here,
because most people on this board are not
medical professionals, but are just
regular people
