Second opinions for stomach , groin , and testicular pain Posted: 05-02-08 08:14am
I went to the doctor for some back,
stomach and groin/testicular discomfort
which has been occuring regularly for
quite a while and getting worse. At first
she thought it may be Kidney stones but my
urine was clear. She then checked my
testicles for problems but thought they
were okay. After getting a CT scan on the
abdomen and Pelvic area her office
informed me that I have no acute findings
just constipation. I do not know what to
do now because the pains have not left
even with/ a laxative.
Here are my symptoms:
1. Lower back pain
2. Burning / Sharp and dull pains shooting
down each side to my groin and testicles
3. Nausea & Upset stomach (especially
when/after eating)
4. Headaches and red bloodshot eyes
sometimes accompany this
5. Fatigue
6. Sexual Problems
7. Bowel Uncontrollability / bloated/ gas
I just feel like a hypochondriac, but this
pain is real! Should I get a second
opinion or something?

Stomach, Ulcers, Gastric Bypass, and Colon Disorders Answer A Posted: 05-07-08 22:15pm
You can ask for a second opinion whenever
you want.
Nausea and upset stomach especially after
eating could indicate a stomach disorder
like gastritis or a peptic ulcer. You need
to have a Helicobacter pillory serology
and even gastroscopy, if necessary. You
may want to consult an internist about
this.
You didn’t describe your sexual problems
but if we assume impotency you can request
several examinations to exclude organic
impotency: clinical examination, blood
analyses (blood count, sedimentation,
hemoglobin, CRP, hormones (FSH, LH,
testosterone, thyroxin, and prolactin),
PSA, liver status, kidney status…),
prostate examination with manual rectal
examination, etc. You should stop taking
any more alcohol. You may want to consult
a urologist about this.
If the back pain is not due to a kidney
disorder it could be due to a spine
disorder: pinched spinal nerves, spinal
disk degeneration, etc.
Hypochondria is a type of neurotic
disorder where the patient thinks that he
is ill even if there isn’t any real
organic disorder. All the possible organic
disorders should be excluded first before
blaming hypochondria for all your
symptoms.
A laxative can’t relief your abdominal
pain. Certain laxatives can even provoke
abdominal cramps. You may want to take a
spasmolitic drug for the abdominal pain.
