Hi,
So I've been on birth control for a solid 2 months now, but I started on the wrong day the first month and was bleeding for a whole month. I started my second month after that and everything was normal (taking Tri Cycline Lo 28) and on my 5th pill into the active pills (started on Monday, so on Friday) I had protected sex with my boyfriend and the condom did NOT break. I'm a little worried though because I'm at the end of my second month, 2 pills into my inactive pills week, but I haven't gotten my period yet. Is this because I'm pregnant? Or because I'm not fully adjusted to the three months it usually takes to get used to birth control? Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Hormonal birth control pills usually take about 2-3 weeks to start giving you effective protection. If you have taken the birth control pills at scheduled time daily and have not missed taking any pills, you should have the protection. Use of condoms will give you additional protection. Wait and watch for your periods/withdrawal bleeding which should occur by the time you finish with taking the placebo pills. Start with the next pill pack as instructed on the scheduled time. Visit your doctor/gynecologist for further evaluation and assistance if you miss your periods or if you get abnormal periods.
Take care.
