Hi. I just received an ESI. The shot has helped my
L5 back pain quite a bit. It has been 10 days since I received the shot. I still had a nagging pain but by taking 600 mg of Ibuprofen twice a day the pain went away.
My question is do I continue to take the Ibuprofen or do I go in for a second ESI hoping that it would allow me to not have to continue taking Ibuprofen?

Note: I have been taking Ibuprofen for the last 18 months 1200 mg a day. I previously have had 3 ESI shots each two months apart from the last, the last one I received 10 months ago. I had been without any pain for the last 6 months, even took up lap swimming and lost 40 lbs, but had to take the 1200 mg Ibuprofen to keep the L5 pain nag away. One month ago I over strained my back and had to get another shot.

I am switching insurances (new job) and won't have coverage for another shot for several months.

Thanks

Ron
