I completely agree with all of these posts...I'm almost done with my 3rd month of Seasonique - I switched to this pill because I was attracted to fewer periods. First of all, I bleed the ENTIRE first month - I had a 4 week period at the very end of summer...how depressing. And literally that depressed me. This pill has given me crazy mood swings to the point I got into a shouting match with my boyfriend's mom - at his birthday dinner!! She must have thought I was crazy. The WORST side effect is my skin! I have had horrible, monstrous zits and my skin has always been clear!! I woke up with 8 puss-filled zits over the weekend!! My boobs have gotten ginormous which is so awesome, but if my face is all pimply, who cares for big boobs? No hair loss yet- but wow that is scary. I'm stopping this pill NOW!

every one with problems didn't do their research because all the problems everyone is having is under the side effects in the package and the doctor tells you most of them any way I've been on it for 18 months and have problems with all other birth control i've been on 7 different ones since i was 16 because of problems with the monthly cycle and i'm only 21. This pill has been amazing and has fixed my problems. They also say that this pill is not for everyone and you need to communicate with your doctor if you have any problems from the beginning. I hope everyone has found something that fixed their problems from the pill, but it is worth trying cuz 4 PERIODS A YEAR IS AWESOME!

Im taking loseasonique Iv been on it for about 7 weeks I am having the worst mood swings all i can do is cry Iv started to think that every thing iv done in my life is wrong and now for the last week iv had spotting and a headache that just wont go away thank you for this posting i was feeling so crazy that i did not even want to call the doc for fear that he would just tell me i was going crazy and someone needed to come take my kids realy thats how bad this pill has made me feel

i am so happy to find these posts. i have been taking seasonique for almost 5 weeks. i have turned into a total basket case. i finally had to start calling into work this week because i wasn't able to hold it together at work. the worst part was not be able to sleep. just sitting up all night acting crazier and crazier. i cry all the time. feel like i want to break things in my house. and have this terrible feeling of anxiety coarsing through my body. i can't sit still. even after i go for a run, i still feel anxious. i went to the doctor and told him that i was going through a break up (which i am not starting to think was helped along by my insanity). i have always been good at sleeping. normally i fall asleep quickly and stay asleep and wake up in the am without even setting an alarm. the doctor gave me xanax. i have been taking more that i am supposed to because it doesn't last for very long and i still have such a hard time sleeping. i starting thinking that i needed to go to counseling or maybe be on anti depressants and thinking i might have to take a leave of absence from my job. these posts are giving me hope that if i stop taking seasonique, i can be a person again. please respond if you can tell me whether i just stop taking the pills altogether or what and how long before i can go back to being the confident, happy, sleepy person i have always been. PLEASE!

I am so glad I found this blog. I have taken only 2 Seasonique pills but those will be the only 2 that go into my mouth. I am glad all you shared your horrible experiences so I could avoid the possibility of such terrible side effects! I got 9 months worth for free from my doc, but I am tossing them. I will go back to my Ortho Tri Lo!!

I have been on BC for 6 years. AND THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST. I am only on my 4th day of LoSeasonique and its absolutely horrible! I switched to it for the 4 periods a year benefit and at this point I dont even want to take the pill anymore! My mood swings are insane, bloated, dizzy, irritable. I'm SO done. I would rather have a period once a month then deal with this. I know it takes MONTHS to regulate your body and get used to something, but I seriously do not have the patience for SUCH adverse side affects. Sometimes you just have to accept that a period is the way of LIFE.

I have been on this pill for a little under two months now and have noticed so many side effects. First of all I have been bleeding straight through for almost the entire time I've been on it. Not super heavy but definitely a tampon a day. I've also noticed more hair in my brush and my breasts are constantly sore and tender. The worst part are the mood swings. For the past two weeks every morning I've been waking up with this horrible depression. I've also been having nightmares and really fitful sleeping where I keep waking up. I made an appt with my gyno about these concerns and i'll probably be getting off this pill asap.

this is the first post, i have found on the internet with nightmares. I just bought my second pack of Seasonique, and so far have not had any of the side effects people people are complaining about here, but I do have some really intense mood swings and since i started taking it i usually sleep very well but i have been getting really horribly bad nightmares that are really really vivid this is the only drug i am on. i want to stop taking seaonique now.

I have been on lo seasonique for a month. I have been bleeding for a week and a half, with cramping on going. I have not noticed any hair loss. I went on it, to avoid my periods, but this is worse bc I am having one long period now. I am undecided what to do about going off of it, bc I have not had migraines (like i normally do each month) and have not had any nausea. I have noticed mood swings, but assummed this was due to adjusting to the pill. Is there anyone who likes this pill??

I was on Seasonique for one full pack and have had some serious side effects. I have never had health problems and am 28 years old. I began feeling dizzy, circulation is poor (tingly) and had sternum/chest pain etc... I have been to the ER twice and everyone says that I have stress/anxiety. However, I believe that the pill was the cause of this. I have quit the pill for 1 week now and am still experiencing the symptoms. Can someone who quit due to serious symptoms please tell me how long it took for them to go away completely? I was hoping that a week would do it, but someone said an entire cycle is more likely. Your replies are much appreciated!

I am an active cardio 37 year old female, due to a c-section and tubal from my twins I was left with scar tissue. As a result of the scar tissue I suffer from severe cramping that puts me down at least 2 weeks. My doctor put me on a trial period. My mood is balanced with it, but for the past week or so (2nd month on the pill) I started having unconfortable night sweats and my blood pressure is now 144 over 90. The doctor asked me to monitor my blood pressure and call her if the symptoms continue, she is aware that I don't have a history of blood pressure. She thinks they are side effects from the pill. After reading everyone's comments, i will be asking my doctor to switch me to Ortho Try-Cyclen

I am also having problems with my blood pressure! I have almost finished the first cycle of Seasonique and went to my regular doctor the other day and was told my blood pressure was 153/100! My resting pulse rate is staying at 108 as well. Both are very high for me. This is the only change in medication i have made in a year, so it is most likely it. I have an appt with gyno soon, and will try something else. Unlike most of you, I am on this pill to regulate my depression and anxiety related to the hormone changes every month. It's not worth this though.

Huge side effects on the Lo. I am 42 and started peri at 32. my periods are out of control again and I now have acne. I feel like a 14 year old again! dr put me on the loseasonique-3 solid weeks of bleeding, mood swings that need a rubber room and now I am finding a lump in left breast. stopped the lo about 2 weeks ago or so and lump went down some but now am having a mamo and ultra sound to diagnose the lump. this is the scariest bc I have ever taken!!!

So did u figure out what the lump was because ive been on it for 6 weeks now and i have found one also ...is it somthing i need to wory about im really scared ?

OMG! Thank you for this posting website!!! I just stopped taking this crazy pill yesterday. I have had a normal period cycle since I can remember...I'm 26 years old and thought it would be a good idea to get on birth control, and the thought of having less periods was a good idea. I have always had terrible cramps, sometimes I would be in bed a whole day.

Well....ever since I started taking these damn pills I have been cramping for 3 WEEKS! And I've been bleeding (not spotting) but bleeding for 15 days! I dunno about you ladies but tampons are not cheap! I cry in the shower, I flip out on the slightest thing and I will be a raging beeyotch one minute then I will want a hug the next! I have never felt like such a crazy in my life!

I have also developed acne on my arms, my back and forehead! Ladies stop taking this pill. I haven't experienced the hairloss as mentioned in previous posts, I am sorry to the women who have had that experience. I just thought it was a good idea to post something on this topic, I am scared to try any birth control pills now. I will say this....mother nature wanted us to have normal periods and maybe this is what I get for trying to mess with that!

I've been on Seasonique for 3 1/2 months now and this is by far the worst birth control i have ever been on! Ever since i started this pill my breasts have been killing me, ive had headaches and migraines everyday and have had stomach pains all day long every single day! i havent experienced any hair loss but i noticed that my head feels like its burning sometimes and it itches more. i thot i was going crazy and just falling apart from stress but my mom said maybe its the pill so i googled side effects and realized im not going crazy its this damn pill! and i noticed that i just didnt wanna get out of bed anymore i didnt wanna go anywhere with my husband and kids i just stayed home and layed around. i have been crying over nothing. its just ridiculous! i recommend not taking this pill. im switching immediately. thank you to everyone for posting their experiences they have been very helpful!

Ok.. wow.. I don't know what to think here. Was hoping to try the Seasonique first birth control ever for me, but I'm 35+ and would not at all like to lose my already fine hair, or get zits back for a 2nd time in my life, bleed all the time even if spotty, have migranes or be any more moody than I already am! And I'm already trying to fight the weight gain war... Anyone currently using this seasonique with NO issues?? Avoiding pregnancy isn't my hopes, just tired of heavy periods.

I am taking the pills for 3 weeks now. I also have side effects that are mentioned from the majority of you. I have rush on my cheeks and neck, I have cramps, bad moods, I am bleeding the 5 th day now, my breast are swollen and bigger Since I had history of a lump in my right breast (this happened when I was taking Deane 45 for one year), I am scared that seasonique will cause lump growth in my breast also. My right breast is already much bigger that the left breast, I have noticed the change of abnormal size in my right breast since I was on the pills. I am scared to death. Going to doctor..

Ok. My girlfriend got this pill just over a 8 months ago. i can remeber this because we have had sex in seven. But im not worried about that. She is.. was a very affectionate, sweet, loving girl. she is so amazing and i love her ALOT. well we got in a fight. nothing major. Not anything even to hold a grudge just frustrations got out. Now she says she doesnt feel the same about me, doesnt feel love which is strange becasue she says she doesnt know why. she broke up with me but we hang out everyday we have a chance with our work scedules.

When she started this pill she went through the usual side (effects her doctor said would happen. they eventually faded. but so did her personalitly. the first month after taking this pill we had sex one time and then havent since.. before this pill we had sex pretty frequently. Now she would hardly kiss me.

She went strait onto the second packet without taking the "off" week pills.. (her doctor suggested this due to her painful periods) making her period come only twice a year. (I really dont like that but i have no say in it. Take into mind we are only 18. but not your usual crazy teenagers). Her mom is a NICU nurse in the main IHC hospital in our area and seems to think its fine also. As the second set went on she got more and more less affectionate throught the whole packet and she went on the other pills for a week.. BOOM she was back. just like that. kissing, hugging, and just having fun, I race motocross and we went to a mountain race to stay the night and we had originaly had planned to have some "fun" that night in our trailer if you know what i mean.. ha unfourtunatly the higher elevations cause bleeding making us feel uncomfortable doing anything. But she was back to herself for at least a couple days.

Now she is on the last month of her third packet and our realation ship is pretty messed up right now. She isnt herself. She knows that her pill kills her sex drive. But she doesnt believe me when i say that i think there is a possibility of killing her emotions for me. Ive read all these and im pretty convinced that im right. Im wating for her to switch to her off wee pills before i show her this site but im afraid that we wont be on speaking terms by then.

Does anybody think im right about this pill changing her like this?

P.S. I know my spelling isnt perfect but give me a break its three in the morning and i cant sleep over this whole ordeal.

I have been taking seasonique for three weeks now and I just left the hospital because I'm having extreme head pressure blurry vision and my hair is falling out. Thought something was wrong with my head and turned out it's the pills. I'm stopping today and see if I improve

I started Seasonique about two months ago, I have taken birth control pills for the past 12 years and this is the worst pill I have ever taken. I have not noticed hair loss like the other posts, but I have suffered from terrible bleeding that has lasted over three weeks straight. It never looks like it is going to stop. I have had terrible headaches and depression. I quit taking this pill because all the side effects I am having was the same as a miscarriage and I was not sure what was happening. Now that I have read these posts i am sure it is just the pill. PLEASE DONT TAKE THIS PILL!!!!

Ive been on this crazy pill sinse october and im just not myself. Im having crazy mood swings to everyone but mostly my fiance. Im depressed for no reason and crying at everything and anything. i feel as if im turning into this nutcase because of this pill. im not intrested in nothing anymore my sexdrive is below low. and now im having this breakthrough bleeding thats not even light. i dont even know what to make of this. ive been on BC before and i never had to deal with any of this stuff. im just losing my mind because of this sh*t. ive heard the first few months you expiorecence side effects until your body gets used to it but for real screw this because this sh*t isnt worth it at all. this is ridiculous though if i would of know all this sh*t i wouldnt even began to take it. and im about to start my last cycle of my 1st pack and i dont know if i should just jump to the yellow pills. or if i should just start my previous BC pills. because im going crazy on this pill.

I have been taking this pill (LO Seasonique) for 3.5 months. The 1st three weeks I had constant bleeding.
Then on the 2nd month I was questioning my relationship that I had been in for 4 yrs. He just couldn't seem to make me happy for nothing. Then by the 3rd month I broke up with my perfect boyfriend and he couldn't understand why. He felt like it came out of no where. I felt completely out of love for no reason. Made him move out , I wanted to completely change my life because I felt so unhappy. After 2 weeks I realized that I was acting completely insane and had no reason to ruin our life's.

Still not putting two and two together until tonight after reading everyones post. The reason I switched birth control was I wanted 4 periods a year because the week before my period I always have mild breakouts. And at 27 yrs old I'm over having breakouts. So I figured with 4 periods a year then I would only have mild breakouts 4 times a year instead of 12. WELL I WAS WRONG!!! I breakout constantly all around my chin area. They don't go away just keep accumulating. And now I'm starting to breakout on my chest and back. Which I have NEVER in my life. The WHOLE reason I switch was to not have acne problems and they are worse then ever. The way I founf this post was looking to see if others taking this pill had acne problems.
I'm having mild hair loss but more importantly my hair feels dead and is dry and breaking. I have also had chest pain where it hurts when I breath in and out. This has happened for a couple of weeks straight.
I have had about a 15 pound weight loss but I also have started playing soccer so I'm sure the weight loss is from that.
I have ABSOLUTELY NO SEX DRIVE!! My man feels like he doesn't do it for me anymore but nothing does it for me anymore.
Well needless to say Monday morning my a$$ is going to the Dr. and get on something else. I think I'm going back to Ortho-Tri Cyclening.
Man why did I switch to this stupid BC?
I look worse, I almost ruined my relationship and life!!!!
